This trip is the best way to experience Mongolia with different aspects that make you feel Mongolian traditional lifestyle and magnificent landscape. We start the trip in the Ancient Capital Kharakhorin in central province by land transfer and then fly to Gobi Desert, which is treasure of Mongolia. Afterwards, we head to north in order to continue the trip up on the shores of Huvsgul Lake, one of the world’s largest freshwater sources.

Itinerary

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia and transfer to a hotel to check in. We have lunch, take a city tour including Sukhbaatar central Square, National History Museum and then visit Zaisan Hill War Memorial to let you see panoramic view of the whole city. You will watch a  traditional concert and have a dinner. Rest in a hotel.(B/L/D)

 

Day 2. Elsen tasarhai. 280km 

After breakfast in the hotel, we drive to Uvurkhangai province to check in tourist camp nearby small sand dunes and have lunch. We visit  “Uvgun Monastery” in a base of Khugnu Khaan Mountain. In the evening we stop by a local horse breeder’s family to get some experience of nomad lifestyle talking to them. Overnight in tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 3. Orkhon Waterfall. 190km 

We have a breakfast in the camp and then we head to Orkhon Waterfall. On our way, we visit ”Shankh Monastery” to attend chanting and meet monks. We keep driving to Orkhon Waterfall, which is already listed in UNESCO World  Heritage Site and arrive at the waterfall late afternoon. We have lunch box on our way as picnic. We make excursion to the beautiful Orkhon Waterfall and have hiking and photo session along the river. Overnight in tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 4. Kharkhorin. 120km 

After an early breakfast we drive to ”Erdene-Zuu monastery”, one of three biggest  monastic centers in Mongolia. Late afternoon we arrive in Kharkhorin city to visit Erdene-Zuu monastery. Tour of the monastery grounds and several chapels with excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the 16th century. We visit to ruins of Kharakhorin, ancient capital of Mongol Empire in 13th century. Overnight in tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 5. Khustai National Park. 270km 

After breakfast at the Ger camp, we drive to Khustai national park founded in 1933 after the Dunch effort to reintroduce the Przewalski wild horses back in their natural habitat. The horses had became extinct in Mongolia in the mid-1930s and currently are the only wild horses species in the world.  Visit the park museum to learn about the history of the last pure wild horses in the world and the history of the area. After watching a short documentary about the reintroduction of the horses to Mongolia, drive deep into the national park to see the wild horses who are also known as Takhi in Mongolia. Day 6. Ulaanbaatar. 120km 

Breakfast at the tourist ger camp, we drive to Ulaanbaatar and visit to the Choijin lama temple Museum. Lunch in the restaurant. Free afternoon for your leisure time or shopping. Check in a hotel and rest (B/L/D)

 

Day 7. Fly to Gobi Desert, Bayanzag 100km

We take a flight to Dalanzadgad city, central city of South Gobi province and then drive to our tourist GER camp in a distance of 100 km. In the afternoon, we visit to Bayanzag, known as Flaming Cliffs and explore the ‘Gobi Dinosaur Cemetery’ and the trail of Roy Chapman Andrews. Overnight in tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 8. Khongor Sand Dunes. 150km 

After breakfast drive to Khongor Sand Dunes. Arrive at the tourist GER camp near the famous singing sand dunes. Do excursion to Seruun Bulag, fresh cold stream water and visit a local camel breeding family to learn about the traditional nomadic lifestyle.

Day 9. Yol Valley. 210km 

After breakfast, we go to Yolyn Am which is known as Bearded Vulture Valley, located in Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park for a morning trek and an opportunity to photograph the stunning landscape, the Gobi Glacier and intriguing wildlife. Drive to tourist GER camp to check in. Overnight in tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 10. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar 

We take a flight back to Ulaanbaatar city. We have lunch in the hotel. In the afternoon we visit Bogd Khan Summer and Winter Palace of the last Mongolian King VIII, who ruled the country until 1924. Check in a hotel and rest (B/L/D)

 

Day 11. Fly to Murun/Khuvsgul Lake. 120km 

Today we fly to north, the capital of Khuvsgul province and drive to tourist camp at the bank of the Khuvsgul Lake checking in and rest (B/L/D)

 

Day 12. Khuvsgul Lake 

Full day to explore the breathtaking alpine scenery of this beautiful lake today. There will be an ample opportunity to experience local nomadic lifestyles. Free hiking and photo session along the shores of the lake, home to diverse wildlife and countless birds. Stay in the same tourist camp (B/L/D)

 

Day 13. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar 

We drive back to Murun town to catch a morning flight to Ulaanbaatar. Lunch is in the hotel after the flight; we take tour to the Gobi cashmere factory for shopping for original and pure cashmere gifts and garments. We have farewell dinner according to our tradition. Check in a hotel and rest (B/L/D)

 

Day 14. Departure 

After breakfast, tour guide and driver transfer you to the airport or train station for your international departure. Gratitude and say goodbye to the Guide and Driver (B)
